FAQ EMV
Why is my card not accepted?
If your card is not accepted, you must check with your bank to see if it is enabled for payment; in any case, you must purchase a ticket by another method. Shuttle tickets can be purchased on the Arriva MyPay app.
If there is insufficient credit on the card, or if the card has been blocked, has expired or deteriorated, the system registers an invalid payment and consequently does not allow any further use of the service with the same card.
Is it possible to buy a ticket for more than one person?
Yes, it is possible to use one’s own card to purchase tickets for more than one person:
- By “tapping” the same card several times and within 5 minutes of the first tap, additional passengers can be added to the same card;
- The validator will display the message “Card accepted. Have a nice trip’;
- After the first 5 minutes, the antipassback mode is activated. The validator will display the message ‘card already validated’ with each tap.
What must I show in case of controls?
If checked by Arriva staff, the passenger must provide the last 4 digits of their physical credit card or the virtual card associated with their smartphone.
In the second case, depending on the payment app used, the customer displays the following wording within the app itself
- “Virtual Account Number” for Google Pay
- “Device ID number” for Apple Pay
- “Digital card number” for Samsung Pay.
The data provided is used exclusively for payment verification and the validity of the purchases made and is not stored in any way by the control devices used.
Traveller’s Portal
Where can I download my payment receipt?
To download your payment receipt, you must register on the dedicated portal, load the credit card used to travel and access your personal area.
I am trying to register my credit card to download the receipt but the portal does not recognise it. What can I do?
If you paid with a virtual card on a smartphone or smartwatch, you need to upload the number (PAN) of the virtual credit card, not the number of the physical one.
If you do not have this number, you can obtain it by contacting your bank.
